Artistic Director & Concept Creator

Noeline Kavanagh is an award-winning artistic director and concept creator. Noeline held the role of Artistic Director and CEO of spectacle theatre company Macnas from 2009-2022. The company was awarded The Irish Times special tribute award for outstanding contribution to Irish culture in 2020. They are a graduate of the Samuel Beckett Centre, Trinity College Dublin and they attended Central School of Speech & Drama, London.

Projects

Noeline is currently collaborating with playwright Marina Carr on a theatre spectacle show. Other projects include collaborating with performer Marty Rea and composer Matthew Berrill on the staging of a classic poem. Noeline is a visiting lecturer with Ideas Lab @ NUIG and is a consultant with Longford County Council.

Teacher

Noeline teaches in communities, cultural organisations and third level institutions. Noeline has been a visiting lecturer with University of Galway Drama Theatre & Performance Studies, Dun Laoghaire Institute Of Art Design & Technology, Barrow in Furness College, England. Noeline also mentors individual artists on creative projects.

Speaker

Noeline has delivered key notes for organisations including Circostrada - “The Art of Spectacle”. Inspirefest - “The Importance of Creative Disruption in Public Spaces'' Speakers Academy/ Microsoft - “Art of Imagination" Trailbalize for RTE - "We need to talk about Ireland" . Noeline has been a contributing speaker with Dublin Start -up, Falite Ireland, Theatre Forum, and Arts Council Ireland. They have been a panellist at SxSw; Galway International Arts Festival First Talk series and the Library of Ideas Body and Soul Festival.

Consultant

Noeline collaborates with communities, artists and cultural organisations. Their focus is on events that are large in scale and transformative for a community, place and space. They have consulted for Draiocht Blanchardstown, Carlow Arts Office, Longford Arts Office, Bram Stoker Festival, and Newbury Corn Exchange.
